School Holidays

G’day and Welcome

We live on acreage in South East Queensland.

It’s nice. Quiet. Very much away from suburbia. We watch Kangaroos while we eat breakfast.

My guy is a typical, raised in the country, worked in the mines, type of bloke. He loves it. So does my “grew up in a mining town” first-born.

Tweenie, the baby Gemini is not so fussed. She likes people. She would be ecstatic if we lived in a Coronation Street environment. She loves to be at the shop.

It is school holidays here. I let her come to the shop. She ran around the somewhat dangerous carpark. She hassled the hairdressers (pink streaks aren’t that bad…). She helped the coffee shop girl clean the tables. She chatted to the vet. She got older kids to buy her lollies at the supermarket. She loved it so much that she is NEVER coming back!

Now, you need to understand that she was one when I opened this shop. She kept breaking stock and running off to “help” other shop owners. She was sent to day-care when she was two.

She is now five. She is at school. She assures me she is a big girl now. Everyone in the village believes she is adorable. Eventually her father came and took her home for lunch.

He let her sleep until 6:30 because she was tired. I got home at 7:30. I wanted to work on-line for abit. She eventually went to sleep around 11:30. I was too tired by then to go on-line.

You will find friends all over this wonderful on-line community. I have made many. I have Male friends and Female friends who lend me their “marketing” ears.

I know only a few who understand the difficulty of raising a family without the benefit of a wife. I do not have a wife because I am one.

I will not give in.

I will not wait until I am in a nursing home to wonder if I should have taken advantage of the Internet.

I can do this.

So can You.

We will succeed as Entrepreneurs and as Mothers.
